Next, we journey along the ancient Via Francigena, tracing the footsteps of pilgrims and merchants, until we reach the majestic Castello di Celsa. Perched atop a hill, this historic fortress offers breathtaking views stretching from Siena to Monte Amiata. Despite its tumultuous past, including devastation by imperial troops in the sixteenth century, the castle stands proudly, a testament to resilience and fortitude. In 1612, it found new life under the stewardship of the noble De Vecchi family from Siena.
Our journey through time reaches its pinnacle at the private Montarrenti Castle, a commanding presence atop the Senese mountains.
